The box score Tuesday night was ugly. Zero runs. Five hits. Six baserunners. One extra base hit.
Well, Bryce Harper had two of those hits. And got on base three times. And got the only extra base hit.
The youngest player on the team was clearly the best player on the team. And I’m not alone in that opinion. Adam Wainwright agreed in eighth inning when he walked Harper on five pitches to load the bases–his only walk of the night.
Wainwright escaped the jam by striking out Adam LaRoche for the fourth time in the game.
