The Potomac Nationals didn’t get the memo on the new Nationals logo either

The Potomac Nationals, formally the Potomac Canons, formally the Prince William Canons, became the Single A affiliate for the Montreal Expos franchise when they moved to DC to become the Washington Nationals.

In the process, the team changed their name to capitalize on the inevitable popularity of a new major league team in the area. I don’t follow minor league baseball attendance patterns, so I have no idea if that plan worked.

The team also adopted a variation of the Nationals then-logo. The major league club changed from a block letter logo to a curly W logo in time for 2011 baseball season.

The Potomac Nationals, however, at least on their website, seem content with the old style.

This morning I took Google to task for refusing to use the Nationals new logo. Since I’m an equal opportunity ball-buster, I must take the P-Nats to task as well.

Come on, guys.

* The P-Nats appear to have another logo, which is better, but sadly underutilized. See below.
