Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing…after they have exhausted all other possibilities…
The Nationals finally did the right thing. They reversed their new and absurd policy that tickets to last night’s rained out game cannot be refunded or exchanged.
There are several lessons to be learned here. A few thoughts:
1) It’s hard to imagine that twitter/email/blogs didn’t make a difference. The people spoke and the Nationals listened…eventually.
2) Don’t give the team too much credit. They instituted this absurd policy in the first place and then tried to defend it. They thought had they had an opportunity to stick it to the fans, and they took it.
3). Finally, before I salute the team for altruism, remember that this was a bad business decision as well as a bad PR decision. Once they crunched the numbers, they changed their minds.
Anyway, lets get back to baseball. Or important topics like what Bryce Harper is eating.
