The Nationals have been losing lately, but they haven’t been losing. Ryan Zimmerman has seen losing, especially in 2008 and 2009, when his team lost 102 and 103 games respectively. In fact, prior to 2011, the only decent extended stretch of baseball for the Washington Nationals occurred in the early part of 2005, when Zimmerman was a senior at the University of Virginia.
The Nationals have been frustrated lately and many of them have been unable to hide it. Zimmerman’s face last night after striking out to end the top of the sixth inning was particularly poignant.
Zimmerman has repeatedly been called the “Face of the Franchise” since being drafted in 2005. This face isn’t exactly what people are referring to.
Seriously Nationals, score some runs.
