Jayson Werth has been hitting as good as anybody in baseball. He was the NL player of the month in July. Looking at the hitting standings right now, despite his .329 average, he doesn’t appear. This is because Jayson doesn’t have enough at bats to qualify yet, due to his stay on the DL earlier this year. In order to qualify he needs to average 3.1 plate appearances per game. Right now he is averaging 2.96 plate appearances per game or about 17 ABs behind. If he averages 3.5 at bats per game the rest of the season he can qualify. He needs 503, if he doesn’t get hurt or miss many games he will make it.
